These two:

simply amaze me.

Right now Addison is 16 months going on five. I’m amazed daily at the things she does due to Terrance’s example. She tries extraordinarily hard to buckle herself into her car seat and gets very mad when I do it for her, she wants to play with anything and everything of Terrance’s. And when T actually let’s her her little face beams with joy. She runs–very fast–she jumps, she climbs–she pretty much moves constantly. She’s a very busy little girl. That being said–the floor is her nemesis. She stumbles a lot.

Terrance is almost five going on 35. She knows everything about everything. She’s very much into letters, writing them, knowing their sounds and knowing how to spell things. She asks constantly how to spell random words that come to her little brain. I write them down for her as she asks, making a list, of which I’ll usually find in her room with a few sheets of her practicing said words scattered near by. She loooves to learn and that makes me a proud mama. She loves to tell me that she’s knows all about science and math and space and the planets. She has a tea party daily and loves to spend ample time preparing her snacks for it (she uses her little wooden food from her kitchen). Her favorite thing to watch is Kung Fu Panda which she pronounces, “Kooonch Fu Panda!” Emphasis on the Kooonch and she says it very fast and harsh and it cracks me up every time I hear her say it. She loves to karate chop anyone that’ll let her and “fight.”

As sisters they’re growing into quite the little pair. Terrance is, hands down, Addison’s favorite person in the house. Addison LOVES her big sister. If she could, Addison would spend her entire day hugging, kissing and playing with Terrance. Terrance is, well, ya know, 5 and much to busy to do be bothered with baby stuff and she doesn’t like slobbery kisses. Poor Addison.

Anywho, they love each other. They laugh and play and chase each other. They want to comfort the other when one is hurt or sad or upset. The bond they’re forming reminds me of my sister and how wonderful it was to grow up with her. Ha! And they even fight–and Addison is learning to stand up for herself–which is a good thing. The whole “sibling” is my favorite part of parenthood so far. It’s amazing to me to watch these two little people of mine create this incredible relationship that they have.
